Alton Scout Group are a thriving scout group, with members throughout the Churnet valley.

The club is open to all ages, all abilities and any type of camera, including but not limited to smart phones, video cameras, DSLRs, drones and film.

We are a team comprising 17 Handbell Ringers, based in the village of Alton, with members coming from surrounding villages and towns.

If you're lucky enough to live in or around our beautiful village, this is the Facebook group to share your events & news, ask questions or discuss anything and everything to do with life in the village.

Alton Parish Council represents the local area liaising with other authorities to comment on issues affecting the parish. The council also has certain statutory duties like the administration of the parish cemetery.

The organisation has roughly 65 members from Alton and the surrounding area. All proceeds from the Jumble sales, etc, go towards subsidising trips plus we also have afternoon teas and a Christmas lunch every year.

Run by Barry and Sheena, Alton post office and newsagent provides a variety of essential services to the village.

Our group is for all ages and abilities – with the emphasis on the social and enjoyment side of running. Our runs are on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, meeting at the White Hart, High Street, Alton, Staffs. at 6.30pm.

Alton Village Hall is a good sized village hall capable of housing up to 180 people standing or 130 sitting. Its aims are to provide an affordable venue for regular groups to meet and for village events. The hall is also available for hire for private and group events.

The WI is the largest voluntary women’s organisation in the UK. It plays a unique role in enabling women to develop new skills and gives them opportunities to campaign on issues that matter to them and their communities.

The Bull’s Head is a family run business set in a 17th Century coaching inn which is situated in the heart of the Staffordshire Moorlands.

Alton Castle hosts over 8,000 children annually, providing retreat experiences that hold great significance for young people and supporting staff alike. 

The village shop serving freshly made pasties, sandwiches and sweet treat galore every day.

The Parish of St John the Baptist is a Catholic community of faith and fellowship in the scenic village of Alton, Staffordshire. 

The academy is located close to St Peter’s Parish Church and is a member of the Staffordshire University Academies Trust (SUAT) and the Diocese of Lichfield.
